Clive Watson Author

Clive Watson has over three decades of entrepreneurial experience in the pub and hospitality sector. He has founded and sold on two very successful premium pub groups.

He was educated at Epsom College then went on to read Modern History and International Relations at Reading University and subsequently qualified as Chartered Accountant. His earlier finance career took him into the hospitality business.

In 2013 Clive took an MA in International History, and this was followed by a Masters at Cambridge University – gaining a distinction with his dissertation on the Conservative Party attitudes towards Scottish devolution.

He has been a member of the Conservative European Forum, campaigned for Remain in the referendum and supported the Right to Vote campaign financially.

He currently holds various non-executive charman roles mainly related to the hospitality industry.

Clive won the Industry Lifetime Achievement award in 2025 and has regularly appeared on Radio 4, Newsnight, LBC, Sky News and Panorama. His daughters, Lucy and Tiffany, were leading characters in the TV show Made in Chelsea with Clive making periodic appearances alongside them.

Clive has four children and lives near Guildford and loves travelling.
